There is a Veggie option… You can F*ck off!

Last year the big nutrition buzz word was Keto.

This year, while keto is still buzzing around the latest big buzzes are around ‘Plant-based’, ‘Veganism’ and ‘Sustainability’

And that’s fine.

If you want to follow a vegan regime or really look to a more sustainable way of purchasing and consuming your food that is totally and utterly up to you.

However, with that there is also a vast array of ‘fit and nutrition pros ‘who are willing to jump on board with the latest buzz or already follow the latest trend and push that agenda.

And the question is, is that appropriate?

In my opinion, it is not my place to push my nutritional ethos on to my clients. What I do is make recommendations based on the latest nutritional research, to bring the best and most balanced diet to them according to their own goals and using their own ethos.

In that way I work with individuals who follow a vegetarian, pescatarian, vegan, omnivorous and any other label you’d like to put on a nutrition regime.

The point is, their diet ethos is their business not mine.

If you are going to seek nutrition advise from someone offering their services you have to ask yourself a few questions about their credibility.

What are their qualifications?

How do they earn their money from you?

Are they selling products?

Recommending supplements over solid whole foods.

Are they selling time?

What recommendations are they making?

Does the process look at you as an individual and your specific goals?

If it a weight loss program. How much weight are you losing per week?

What’s the focus? Fat loss, total weight loss?

What testing and metrics are taken?

Does it all sound a bit too good to be true?

So as we come back to the gym, get back from a holiday or just want to lose a few lbs. Do your best to steer clear of the ‘too good to be true’ shite. Or agenda pushing bollocks!

This stuff takes time and dedication to co correctly.
